Availability settings help you schedule the right carer at the right time. Here's how to configure and use them effectively.
Where to Find Availability
Go to Team → Select a Carer → Availability tab. You'll see a weekly grid where you can mark available and unavailable time slots.
Setting Regular Availability
Click and drag on the grid to mark standard available hours. These repeat every week unless overridden.
- Green blocks = available
- Grey blocks = unavailable
Adding Exceptions
Use the Exceptions panel to mark one-off changes:
- Holidays or annual leave
- Training days
- Sick leave
- Temporary schedule changes
How Scheduling Uses Availability
When you create a rota:
- Skedulr only shows carers who are available for the shift time
- If you try to assign an unavailable carer, you'll see a warning
- The auto-assign feature respects all availability rules automatically
Best Practices
- Ask carers to keep their availability up to date via the mobile app
- Review availability at the start of each week before building rotas
- Use the Availability Report to spot patterns and plan ahead
