Setting up automatic shift notifications

Automatic notifications keep your team informed without manual effort. Here's how to set them up.

Accessing Notification Settings

Go to Settings → Notifications. You'll see options for different notification types.

Notification Types

| Type | Description | | ------------------ | ------------------------------------------------ | | New Shift | Sent when a carer is assigned a new shift | | Shift Change | Sent when a shift time or location changes | | Shift Reminder | Sent a configurable time before the shift starts | | Rota Published | Sent when a new weekly rota is published |

Configuring Reminders

Set how far in advance carers receive shift reminders:

  • 15 minutes before
  • 30 minutes before
  • 1 hour before
  • 1 day before

Delivery Channels

Notifications can be sent via:

  • Push notification (mobile app)
  • Email
  • SMS (if enabled on your plan)

Best Practices

  • Enable Rota Published notifications so carers know when to check their schedule
  • Use 1-hour reminders as a default — close enough to be useful, far enough to prepare
  • Encourage carers to enable push notifications in their phone settings
